Creative minds at Starbucks

Creative minds at Starbucks
Hey there Cutie pies! :heartame:
Today I went to my first blogger meeting or more exactly an event hosted by Starbucks to which I got invited by the lovely Laurita. I was quite excited to finally meet some Swiss bloggers and have been looking forward to this event ever since I got asked about a week ago.

Starbucks is ominpresent in Switzerland and every morning you can see the cups with the distinctive logo, in the hands of thousands of people who enjoy drinking coffee. I must honestly say, that I’m not used to drinking coffe and I seldom do but luckily Starbucks offers a wide range of other delicious beverages among which I couldn’t tell you one I don’t like drinking.

Matcha Latte at its best!

Theme of this meeting were the reusable cups that have been introduced to Switzerland mid January of this year. The general idea is to buy such a cup and get a discount on every beverage if you show up with your reusable cup which they can use to fill in you beverage. I wonder if it’s okay to have a large cup but only take a small beverage?!
Anyway, Karolina who works at Starbucks started drawing on the cups when there wasn’t going on that much in the store and the customers who saw it were pretty amazed. She stills draws little things for her customers when she has time and she even drew a cat for me! I was looking for some examples of personally customized cups on the world wide web but I couldn’t find anything so I would dare to say that yesterday has been a premiere!

It was also a nice opportunity to meet some Swiss bloggers, and be creative together! I love looking at drawings that different people did and I always liked walking through the room during art classes and look at the drawings of my class mates.
There were also some snacks like blueberry muffins, sandwiches and chocolate and we even got to try a new coffe blend called “Verona“. It’s a coffee that goes well with desserts and has a slight cocoa bean flavour. So it’s actually perfect for Valentine’s day because it tastes best with chocolate things. Verona is a pretty suitable name I think, since it’s the city of Romeo & Juliet. :on:

my Room & lack of personality

my Room & lack of personality

I’m too much of a perfectionist to write about my personal life. My life isn’t perfect, in fact it is far away from being perfect and in my view also not examplary enough to present it to you here. During the last months though, I got the impression that this blog has lost personality. This raises the question whether what’s worse, a blog about my unideal life or a blog that is as impersonal as.. well let’s say as your seat at the cinema. I’ve seen many bloggers posting pictures of their home or rooms and even if that’s against my “principles” I would like to join them and show you a little bit of my room.
Is there anything more exciting than entering an unfamiliar place or room? I was always excited when seeing a classmate’s room for the first time.
Maybe you should know that it’s only been a year since I got a room for myself again and that I’ve only made myslef comfortable there last week. In the apartment before I shared a room with my boyfriend. Every creature needs a place to withdraw to, especially me. When we changed apartment last summer, we were both so happy to have our own rooms again. Unluckily I only realised that a few days ago. I was just happy to leave the last apartment and with all the exams and uni life going on, I wasn’t thinking about my own room and place at all. The time I’ve spent there since we moved here is consequently little. But the chapter of the abandoned room is over. It started with the tidying up of my wardrobe, continued with the rearrangement of furniture and degenerated with a visit at IKEA. My bedrrom is officially inhabitable!

I don’t really likea furniture but for pillow cases and other small things it’s quite nice. I got a lot from my parents but I found the red chair as well as other furniture on a scrap heap. A must-have for me, are the plants. I don’t feel comfortable in a room without plants. Luckily I’ve got a small balcony full with plants now. It’s not convenient if you’re going on holidays for a longer period of time but I’m willing to take that risk for my little oasis.

As you may noticed hrhr.. I decided to start writing in German as well because I can imagine that writing in my mother tongue will give my blog posts more personality. I think it’s better if I formulate my sentences in German and then translate them to English.
Obviously I also kind of hope to interact more with my fellow Swiss and German bloggers. Sorry for my many comma mistakes. I can’t promise it but maybe I’m going to review the comma rules.

byebye,

Btw! No, I don’t usually wear dotted aprons with frilled shirts but I’m soon going to tell you more about this special outfit… stay tuned!

Random Compliments

Random Compliments
Hey there Beauties & Cuties! :nekopaw:
I almost fell off my chair when I saw my ugly picture on Mirjam’s blog :twinkles: Chic & schlau. :twinkles: For those of you who don’t know her, she’s a – I dare to say- renowned Swiss blogger from Zurich. I started reading her blog (ugh.. I’m so freaking bad at remembering times) well let’s say about one year ago?! Anyway, I immediately fell in love with her “i don’t care what other people think” attitude and her direct and unfussy way to write.

She started a blog parade where she complimented some of the people she follows on instagram and since this is a really cute idea I wanted to continue with it. Girl, I can give the compliments right back to you! Your eyes are as deep and tempting as tenderly melting dark chocolate (my favourite) and your hair is fantastic. I love, love, love dark hair! May you always stay as you are: beautiful, playful and strong.

Inspiring thing – I don’t even know your name but I liked your style and drawings from the first time I saw them. You’re talented and skilled and every outfit looks just the way it should. Your face is beyond cute and I admire your courage to experiment with your hair. Your age is also unknown to me and although you’re probably pretty young you seem awfully mature what is also reflected in your dressing style. I wonder where you get your inspiration from! You’re amazing!

Laurita – Girl, you’re worth gold. When you smile, you’re eyes smile even more and you have the perfect combo: dark hair & blue eyes. You’re sweet as sugar, intelligent and a true Lolita. Always neat and organized. I wish I had a little bit of the courage and diligence you have. You visited so many stunning places in Asia and you speak Chinese, Japanese, Frensch, Italian, English and are learning Korean. Last but not least – your drawing skills! I was lucky enough to see some of them in RL and you know they took my breath away. Enjoy your stay in Korea and please share your beautiful pictures with us!

Sophia Alexandra – I think it’s needless to say that you’re beautiful. Your blog is one of the first blogs I started reading and even though I didn’t follow every single one of your posts I always knew a little bit what you were up to through instagram and facebook. Your freckles are super cute as well as your big brown eyes. You can wear about everything without looking fake but I like your natural look the most. Your ability to combine clothes and styles is fascinating and I love how you pull off all your amazing wigs! It’s fun being blonde eh?

Lea – I think I stumbled over your pictures through Mirjam’s instagram account. How should I put it without seeming a freak.. it feels a little strange to compliment a person you’ve only known for some weeks and that probably doesn’t even know you exist but here we go. You’re a total babe! Your hair, lips, smile and eyes are stunning~ You’re the beautiful, tall blonde girl with the bright eyes from Germany. I wonder if you’re completely German or if there’s something else.. Anyway, you’re the perfect crush! I didn’t had the time yet to really go through your and Julia’s blog but I will do so soon!

I hope this will sweeten up your day as much as it did mine! Please feel free to use the banner Mirjam made to carry on this blog parade.
I’m off to Italy. I can’t remember when I last was on an Italian train for eight hours, this is definitely going to be an adventure!

byebye, see you in two weeks!
