Kutsushita Nyanko & other cute characters

Hey Everyone!

I guess most of you know the Japanese company San-X . They produce many cute mascots and one of their most popular character is the bear Rilakkuma but I think that there are many other cute characters such as Kutsushita Nyanko or the Mamegoma seals. While I was in Japan I bought some Kutsushita Nyanko notebooks although at that time I didn’t know its name nor that is was a San-X character.. So when we accidentally stumbled over the “Neo Tokyo Shop” in Berlin and caught sight of Kutsushita Nyanko tupperware in their vitrine I was really surprised! Of course they have some Rilakkuma things too but I’ve never been a fan of this lazy bear so I decided to add some cute Kutsushita Nyanko gadgets to my collection.

Kutsushita Nyanko
Kutsushita Nyanko 靴下にゃんこ is a black cat wearing white socks on each of its paws and my favourite San-X character :miam:

Mamegoma まめゴマ are small seals who love eating Edamame and playing in the water. They usually are small enough to live in a goldfish bowl.

Rilakkuma リラックマ is a composition of the Japanese pronunciation of relax and the Japanese word for bear. “His favorite foods are dango, pancakes, omurice and custard pudding. True to his name, he enjoys relaxing and his favorite things include sleeping, lying around, watching television, listening to music and soaking in hot springs.” source: wikipedia
An other nice piece I was able to find in Berlin is the comic book “Wandering Ghost” illustrated by moki a german artist. I already had one of her books and really liked her drawings. Maybe I will post some good pictures of her work on a next entry..:klimper:

Well here is what I got in Berlin:

  1. A lot of Nyanko goods – how sweet is that?? (*´ー`*)

Some years ago Rilakkuma was very popular (in Japan). My (japanese) cousine collected all kind of Rilakkuma … stickers, notebooks, bags, mobile phone straps, etc… ( ̄(エ) ̄)

My favourite was always まめゴマ-chan ♥
