Just do it!
Ok, many of you are probably going to hate me for posting this, at this time of the year with all the delicious food that is awaiting us but I think it’s better to start now than waiting for spring. I can’t say I’ve ever seriously tried out a diet but that’s probably because none of them is really efficient without sport. Although I changed my eating habits for a while this spring, I couldn’t see a real difference. I know that it takes more than a few weeks to see something but it wasn’t fast enough for me because after all I’m quite an impatient person. I really, really wanted to avoid the exercising part but I guess that exercising is the fastest way to get what I want. In fact I love sports and am (was) rather sportive myself. I used to dance really intensively and used my skateboard (slalombard) to go everywhere and of course I did (and still do) snowboarding in winter but now I’m not doing anything except the snow sports.
I’m totally sure about the fact that a person who exercises feels happier and is healthier than a person who doesn’t. I can still remember the “high” I had after 3 hours of non-stop dancing or the awesome feeling after a whole day on the slopes. Here a small list of benefits you get from exercising that I experienced myself!


Regular exercise will:
:sprout: provide you with more energy (You know what this means??! that’s just so very awesome!!!)
:sprout: increase your metabolism (not eating enough will not make you skinnier but slow down your metabolism)
:sprout: give you an incomparable feeling of satisfaction and balance
:sprout: make you physically and mentally strong
:sprout: give your skin a healthy and harmonious glow and tone

I’m sure there are many more effects but these are the ones that are most important to me. Just eating less didn’t really work for me. My metabolism slowed down and that’s all. In fact I eat a lot but it’s not “bad” food so I finally had to realize that the best way for me to loose weight is to exercise! If I exercise and reduce the amount of food just a tiny little bit I’m sure it will work.



I never really thought about jogging but since we’re living quite close to a forest and jogging doesn’t need much equipment I feel like giving it a try! The inspiration came from a little text I found on Pinterest:

Set your alarm for 6am. Don’t groan when it goes off and pull the covers over your head, get up and start your day. Put on a baggy top and running shorts. Go downstairs and pour yourself a nice big glass of ice water. Cut up some fruit and mix it in with yogurt. Add some granola. Now go outside. Stretch for 10 minutes. Skip for 5 minutes. Jog for 10 minutes. Run for 10 minutes. Walk back. Lay out a towel on the ground and lie down on it. Do 50 crunches. Yes, they hurt, but they are 100% worth it. When you’re done, get in the shower. Use a nice smelling shampoo and matching conditioner. Shave your legs and wash your body. Exfoliate your face. Get out of the shower and let your hair air dry. Look in the mirror. Do you like what you see? If you do, good for you. Do this every day and you will continue to love yourself. If you don’t like what you see, do this every day and pretty soon you will. Being lazy might feel good at the time, but being active feels better in the long run. How badly do you want it?


I don’t know why but the slightly military way it’s written in motivated me. Actually it was the second to last sentence that really got me! (I highlighted it) Well, I really want to start jogging tomorrow moring at 6 am. I don’t have jogging shoes nor shirts but I guess that for the beginning a pair of comfortable sneakers and trousers will have to do it. Of course I’m buying myself a pair of decent running shoes if I see that I’m pulling it through. Do you jog? Or do you have any particular advices for me?
I seriously can’t wait to keep you up to date with this project! And if it works, (will it??!!) I’m definitely going to encourage you to do it too. :raburabu:


It is not only to loose weight but to strengthen your body and mind. The nice side effects like an increased blood circulation and therefore a nice glowing skin are obviously very welcome. So girls, start or keep jogging! Eating and being lazy is fun but if it’s accompanied by a nice jogging session every morning your body will look even more amazing and be truly grateful!

  1. I am a very lazy person. I used to jog last summer (summer 2010) but I stopped after a couple of months. I really don’t like sweating! But I would like to start to be regular and do exercises at least 3 times a week?

  2. I tend to jog (I say jog I mean speedwalk and just jog when people are around haha) but i only really do it in the summer. Otherwise I’m so cold I just feel sick! Right now I have a fun little exercise DVD that I do every other day and it keeps me moving and healthy.

    I have no intention of losing and more weight, I don’t feel comfortable if I get too thin (and hey we all need a little padding when it’s cold right? haha) but I like keeping my body healthy and strong.

    I’d love to read about now you’re getting on and good things you find to eat :) xxx

  3. :hello: yes, I read it! :twinkles: Exercising is a good idea…specially now that it’s winter and we stuff lots of food for thanksgiving/christmas… :ghihi:
    Actually I really not fit at all… even walking up a small hill for more then 10min makes me breathe hard… but if you’re willing to put up with my slow pace (at least in the beginning) we could try jogging together ^^ What route did you plan go jogging?

  4. It’s good encouragement! I just had a baby, so I need to make sure I exercise plenty before I’m really in trouble when holiday food contributes to baby-wight! がんばってね!

  5. I though several times about doing some sport… but nobody wants to join me :crying: , I rather prefer to do sport with a friend than alone…. When I would live near Zurich I truly would say: ねこちゃん!! Let’s go jogging together!!! :nope:

    Unfortunately, it is a quite long distance between Lucerne and Zurich :chottoangry:

  6. awesome post! I’ve been trying to get back to my regular exercise routine too :D and ooh I didn’t know green tea help with metabolism hmmm gonna drink more of that now haha

  7. I have bad knees, so the only real exercises I can do are the elliptical and swimming. UNFORTUNATELY my elliptical is broken and the chlorine in pool water irritates my skin condition! Haha! The universe doesn’t want me to work out? D:

  8. I think that diet doesn’t do so much without exercise too because I tried this summer, lost a lot of muscles and I altready gained some weight back -.-
    I love to eat, so I prefer a lot of exercise and more food. I want to enjoy holydays and holyday’s food :D
    But I hate to run! I used to practise martial arts, but now I simply go to the gym. Will start a new sport next year, I think.
